Our actions
Despite the socio-economic development of the past decade, the problems of poverty and inequality remain a challenge in Cambodia: 80% of the population lives in rural areas and more than 55% are engaged in farming. Cambodian agriculture is characterized by small-scale family farming (less than 0.5 ha per family). The peasant families live mainly from a rainfed rice monoculture. Given the country’s geography and the dependence of the population on subsistence agriculture and natural resources for their income, Cambodian women and men are very vulnerable to climate change.
